Moed Katan 1.8-9 - Rabbi Hertzka Greenfeld on the Mishnah

Moed Katan1: 8

הַהֶדְיוֹט תּוֹפֵר כְּדַרְכּוֹ, וְהָאֻמָּן מַכְלִיב. וּמְסָרְגִין אֶת הַמִּטּוֹת; רַבִּי יוֹסֵי אוֹמֵר: אַף מְמַתְּחִין.

An unskilled person may sew in his usual manner, but an artisan may sew only with irregular stitches. We may interlace [supports for] beds. R' Yose says: We may even tighten them.

Moed Katan1: 9

מַעֲמִידִין תַּנּוּר וְכִירַיִם וְרֵחַיִם בַּמּוֹעֵד. רַבִּי יְהוּדָה אוֹמֵר: אֵין מְכַבְּשִׁין אֶת הָרֵחַיִם בַּתְּחִלָּה.

We may set up an oven, a stove, or millstones during [Chol] HaMoed. R' Yehudah says: We may not roughen the millstones initially.
